Nannies
Most of our nannies will have attended a full-time child care course and are familiar with all aspects of child care. A nanny will normally expect to have ‘sole charge’ of the children in her care and will be responsible for their well being. Our nannies must be provided with their own bedroom and full board. Most nannies are able to drive.
Hours of work: By arrangement according to family requirements. Some weekend work may be arranged as part of the job description but extra pay or days off in lieu should be provided. Written contracts must be agreed and exchanged before employment.
Babysitting: Usually two evenings a week by arrangement, however flexibility on both sides is essential. Duties: A nanny will normally do everything for the children, including preparation of meals, care of toys and bedrooms, laundry, shopping for the children’s needs, outings, babysitting by arrangement etc. She will not expect to undertake general housework or cooking for the family.
Holidays: 20 days paid holiday a year plus Public Holidays. Any holiday with the family is considered working time.
Salary and notice period: Pay, hours to be worked, time off, holidays, accommodation etc. should be arranged between Employer and Employee before employment. It is recommended that either party shall give to the other at least two week’s notice within the first year. We recommend a net salary of between £220 - £300 per week depending on age, qualification and experience, plus full board and lodging.
DAILY NANNY: Duties as those of live-in employee. We recommend a gross salary of £55-£60 per day.
PLEASE NOTE THAT IN RESPECT OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED CATEGORIES IT IS THE EMPLOYERS RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT A CONTRACT IS DRAWN UP AND THAT TAX AND N.I. CONTRIBUTIONS ARE PAID.
