Requirements for Candidates

Au pairs , Au pair Plus

To become an au pair you need to be:

  • A single person between the age of 18 and 27 and have no dependants in your home country.
  • Be responsible for paying for your transport to come over to the UK (your Host family may offer to contribute towards travel costs).
  • Be responsible for your college fees (Your Host family may offer to contribute towards the costs of college). If you are an au pair coming form an EU Country and there are Adult Education Centers near your host families' home then you may be entitled to free classes/ lessons and only have to pay for the exam fees.
  • Have medical insurance before entering The UK

Required documents:

  • Filled in AupairLine International application forms (you can download them or fill them in on line).
  • 2 Passport photos and if possible some recent casual photos of yourselves.
  • Au pair agreement (signed).
  • A minimum of 2 written references (1 childcare reference and 1 personal recommendation - not from friends or family relatives, translated into English).
  • Dear Family Letter written in English giving details about yourself, your family, your child care experiences, hobbies, reasons for wanting to become an au pair and what you plan to do in the future.
  • Medical certificate (signed and stamped by a doctor).
  • Police check from your home country or from the CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) if you have been in the UK for more than 6 months.

As it may take some time to gather all the necessary documents (police check and medical certificate) you can start by sending us the application form, photos and any references you already have, and send the rest of the documents when you receive them.

Mothers help

Required documents:

  • Filled in application forms (you can download them or fill them in on line) or CV/Resume.
  • 2 Passport photos and if possible some recent casual photos of yourself.
  • A minimum of 2 written references ( not from friends or relatives, translated into English).
  • Medical certificate (signed and stamped by a doctor).
  • Police check from your home country or from the CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) if you have been in the UK for more than 6 months.
  • Photocopy of your passport.
  • Photocopy of Driving license (If applicable).

Nannies

Required documents:

  • Filled in nanny application forms (you can download them or fill them in on line) or CV/Resume.
  • 2 Passport photos and if possible some recent casual photos of yourself.
  • A minimum of 3 written references (not from friends or relatives, translated into English).
  • Medical certificate (signed and stamped by a doctor).
  • Police check from your home country or from the CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) if you have been in the UK for more than 6 months.
  • Photocopy of your passport.
  • Photocopy of driving license (If applicable).
  • Certificates or diplomas in childcare (If applicable).
  • Issued visa (If applicable).

Housekeepers

Required documents:

  • CV/Resume.
  • 2 Passport photos and if possible some recent casual photos of yourself.
  • A minimum of 2 written references ( not from friends or relatives, translated into English).
  • Medical certificate (signed and stamped by a doctor).
  • Police check from your home country or from the CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) if you have been in the UK for more than 6 months.
  • Photocopy of the passport.
  • Photocopy of Driving license (If applicable).
  • Issued visa (If applicable).

Couples

Depending on the job role that you are applying for (please have a look above) we will require a CV and photograph, some references, a police check and medical check from all candidates.
